Grandma and Grandpa Pieper are here to visit Cady (and mommy and daddy). Here are some pics from the visit so far:
A Fleeting Rattle Romance
DISCLAIMER: Much of this was staged. Cady did not crawl to the rattle, and only grabbed it when I touched it to the back of her hand.
Gosh, I wish I knew where my rattle is.
Oh, my. I think I’ve spied it.
Here I come, you naughty rattle.
Almost…
I have you!
Nom. Nom. Nom. [slobber]
I’m done with you. Be gone!

1138: Tummy time:
1154: shaking my rattle!
1211: More food!
1225: daddy actually changed me, mommy.
1240: Took a break from the bottle #3 for a few to watch some football. Finishing it now. Dozing again.
1255: off to a nap again. Can’t imagine this one will last as long as that first. Must eat lunch fast! (Bengals tied 7-7)
1346: Maybe I was wrong about this being a short nap. Here we are, almost an hour later, and she’s still snoozing. (Bengals winning 10-7 at the half)
1405: still napping strong…but a mild wiggle when I peeked in.
1411: arg! Bengals have lost the lead with about 5 left in the 3rd. 10-14
1441: Just peeked in again, and she’s still snoozing! Good god. She must be hibernating today to fully recover from the cold she’s just about shaken. Poor baby.
1509: Upon last peek-in, Cady is showing signs of waking up. One arm is free from the swaddle, with the other peeking out the top. The time is nearly upon me 😀
1530: and we’re back…
1556: time for bottle #4:
1606: Bottle [pretty much] finished. Time to hit the road!
1739: We have returned from The Deathstar and Best Buy…with a diaper full of love.
1754: bottle #5:
1845: Down for another nap [hopefully] until mommy gets home.
Some extra photos from a Day with Daddy:
Shots, bath fun, and a good nap
Cady got the last of her 5 2-month shots today. They were out of one of the vaccines last week, and told us to call to make sure it was in this week before we came in. No appointment needed. Well, I called yesterday, and was promptly told that I needed an appointment. Ok. Fine. 8:15am. We arrived at 8:19am, and met with a hard look at the clock by the receptionist followed by, “did you call ahead to let us know you were running behind?” This was followed by some heavy sighs by said receptionist after I said “no” and clarified that we were told by the Dr that we didn’t need an appointment to begin with. Maybe next time we’re there, and we’re called back 10-15 minutes after our appointment, we’ll have to revisit this punctuality issue.
Anywho, Cady took her shot like a trooper. Some crying again to be sure, but she settled quickly, and never really had too much of an issue with it as the day went by. I got a shot today too. On the way home, Brennyn, Cady, and I stopped at Walgreen’s to get my flu shot. I didn’t cry as much as Cady did. Later this afternoon, Cady fell asleep next to her mommy and slept for a good while. She slept so well, she filled her diaper with pee…and then dropped another bladder’s worth on the bed. All without waking up. Cady’s bath tonight was a little more eventful than normal. She’s been enjoying them more and more over the past few weeks, with plenty of smiles and the occasional kick and splash – but tonight, she just seemed to suddenly realize: “hey. this is fun!”. I didn’t manage to catch any of the best moments on camera…because that’s just how things always work…but there’s a short video below of some of the splashiness. |

First Day at Daycare
Though neither Brennyn and I worked today, to get Cady in the swing of Daycare, we took her there for about 6 hours today. Being the first time to leave her in the arms of strangers, it certainly wasn’t easy…especially with the pitiful look she cast on us as we walked out the door. Thankfully, she did great, and seemed to still like us when we came back to pick her up.
