23 Weeks Belly and the New Pink

I took yet another belly photo last night. I think Brennyn might be getting sick of it – and I was given strict orders as to what I needed to crop out of the image. Ha!

Below, is also a photo from our nursery-in-the-works. The original pink that we picked out, turned out to be too pink. …at least by one of our estimations. So, last weekend, I painted using the “new” pink. I’ve already forgotten the name of the new one – but it’s darker than the last. I finished painting the rest of the room after this photo. I just took this one to send to Brennyn at work, so I could get the blessing before finishing the rest of it. Again.

Brennyn always puts art on top of her pot pies (always delish). This past week: a portrait of Taters. …those are arms, not breasts.

Finally – a photo of my new arch-nemesis: crab grass. It’s taken over, and most of our Bermuda is still brown as a biscuit.

22 Weeks Ultrasound

Woah! It’s (still) a girl!

We also checked out a daycare today. A nice place…but we’ll see.

Our friend Britt made Pete a cute cupcake hat. We think we'll give it to Cady.

Baby Pelé makes her soccer debut

Tonight Corky was laying down on the couch with his legs across my tummy and someone was unhappy!  For the first time, Cady kicked her little heart out.  It was so sudden and I immediately knew what it was.  It felt like a someone flicked the inside of my tummy.  It was a really neat feeling and when Corey got up to take pictures she stopped.  I had him come and sit down next to me and re-stage the event again, and she again went crazy, sometimes kicking twice at a time.  In between kicks I could feel a stirring in my tummy; she may have been just twirling and spinning.  Really an amazing night, I will never forget it.  I know she’s in there and tonight she was unhappy!  Thanks for checking in and reading this, we love you all.

Cadence Ellie Pieper

Brennyn and I have decided on “Ellie” as our upcoming little girl’s middle name.

That name has a special place in our hearts. On mine and Brennyn’s first date, I brought a DVD that I’d bought for her: Monty Python’s Life of Brian. I thought it was a good idea, since we were both Monty Python fans, and she’d never seen it. We decided to watch it at her house. Problem was, that it didn’t have subtitles, and Brennyn was addicted to subtitles at the time. Seeing as how Monty Python is inundated with thick British accents – it just made things worse. So, we decided to watch another movie. That movie was Contact, which was one of both of our favorite movies. That was just another in a disturbing series of things that we found in common with one-another in a very short amount of time. In fact, we had so many things in common that at one point, I thought Brennyn was making things up to make it seem like we had more in common than we really did! She wasn’t…but I digress. Though all we did that night was meet at Chili’s (that’s another story in and of itself) and then watch Contact at her house – it was one of the best, most memorable nights of my life – and we actually just talked, and talked.

The main character in Contact, is named Ellie, and played by Jodie Foster.
