Halloween 2010

A busy day for little Cady-girl today. After some lounging around the house, we mobilized for a trip to Buffalo Wild Wings for the 2nd half of the Bengals game. They lost again…but Cady didn’t rub it in. I think she was secretly rooting for the Dolphins. Ever since Grandma and Grandpa Pieper got her that sea-themed gym, she’s taken a real shine to aquatic life.

After the game, we headed off to Men’s Warehouse to pick up some new shirts and ties for my trip this week – and then off to get my hair cut to make myself presentable, and a stop at the frozen yogurt place for mommy. Cady was very good through all of it, and was bathed in words like “adorable”, “well behaved”, and “smiley” by the folks at the places we went. Good stuff.

After we got home, we dressed Cady up in her Tootsie Roll costume, and hit the road in her stoller for some Trick or Treat action. She was good – but slept most of the time, while Brennyn and I ate any candy we managed to snag. It was a good opportunity to get to know some of our neighbors a little better.

After Trick or Treating, back home for a bath and bed. …then Brennyn and I watched our now-traditional Halloween flick: Shaun of the Dead.

Cady’s 3-month birthday

…and she’s been full of adventure lately.

She’s been shoving her hands in her mouth and sucking like a maniac for a while now, but just in the past couple of days, she’s really discovered her thumbs.

When she was home with Brennyn today, she fell asleep on her little floor gym. Okay…that’s not really so much adventurous as it is adorable.

…and she finally used her Bumbo!  She’d been holding her head up so well, and sitting on the couch with me and mommy, that we thought she’d dig it. Man, did she! She was in there for quite a while, just looking around and seeing what was up…then eventually her hands found her mouth again.

From: mommy. To: Cady.

Cady girl, you have been such a little angel these past few weeks!  I wanted to thank you.  You are always good but you have been especially good lately my little baby!  You have been sick for what seems like 3 weeks and have really been in an upbeat mood and you continue to smile no matter how icky you feel!  Thank you for being so good for Grandma and Grandpa.  You have been sleeping through the night for almost 2 weeks now, and at first it seemed that you were just sleeping so much because you were sick but really I guess you are just ready to sleep all night.  I dread the thought of not having you in my room at night anymore but know you have to transition to your big babygirl room.

Today while you were having tummy time, you actually push your little legs and moved on your Baby Einstein Nepture gym.  I was so proud of your.  You  are also having really big happy smiles and you open your mouth like you are about to laugh.  Lately Daddy has been doing “flying” with you, where he lifts you up under your arms and you put your legs straight out, which seems to me, to be really advanced.  You must have really strong abs!  You have also been grabbing more things lately like your wash cloth.  Generally these things that you grab go straight for your mouth!

We went to my reunion at work and you were just so well behaved!  Everyone thought you were so beautiful and wanted to hold you.  I also got to see some of the babies that I took care of while you were in my tummy!  One of the little babies was just 2 weeks older than you by gestation and I told her mommy that when I took care of her baby she reminded me of my little baby in my tummy.  It was good to see her!  You and her both looked at each other and that was pretty cute!  Thank you for bringing a smile to my and Daddy’s face every day.  We just love you so much and we are so glad that you are ours!

XOXO Mommy
