Some winter weather

The Parade of Lights.

Lots of great memories for Cady and I tonight. A couple of my favorites quotes:

“I wish Santa would come soon.” It was getting cold, and the parade long. Turns out that she got to see Santa twice.

In the maddening gridlock that followed the parade, at one point, while plotting my next move at a total standstill, I told Cady – who was trying desperately to tell me something about her new sword – to “wait just a second. Daddy is driving.” She astutely replied , “no you’re not, daddy.”

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, despite loving Santa, the motorcycling Elvis’ were Cady’s favorite. She couldn’t stop talking about wanting the “Elves” to come back after they’d passed.

I got home tired

I got home very tired from work this morning. I know. Go figure. It’s not like I’m laying a new railroad. Anyways, as soon as I walked in the door, Cady yelled, “daddy, you’re back!!!” and everything was better.

We went out on the trampoline together, so she could throw her rubber ball at my head for a while. Really. Then, she invited her Mimi to join us, and was very particular about where we sit. Only one spot on the trampoline is suitable for beaning. Duh. After a while, Mimi was ordered to exit the trampoline so that Cady and I could have a rousing game of keep away with her ball. I won, and much laughter was had.

Next: a very, very slow consumption of some pizza and chicken nuggets: a Cady delight.
